Angle or Not

My sister is trying to decide whether she wants to make her table topper with the angles cut off or not. I made one of each style so I hope this helps her.

Do You Hear That?

It is the sound of the quilting angels singing HALLELUJAH!!! My sister put together the blocks for a quilt she started approximately 2 years ago. Isn’t it pretty?

The Quilter's Homecoming

Jennifer Chiaverini is one of my favorite authors. She writes books about women who quilt. These books are not necessarily about quilts, rather they are about women and their relationship to a quilter or a quilt or both! Quilts are a wonderful connection. I have had The Quilter’s Homecoming book sitting on my nightstand for [...]

Lights and Darks

A few posts back, I told how I searched to find the meaning behind the Log Cabin quilt pattern. I had given up until Maf left a comment explaining the significance of the lights and darks of fabric choices and why the square in the middle of the block is usually red in color. Thank [...]

She Likes It! She Really Likes It!

Hand Quilting is Tough Stuff

My fingers are so sore because I have been hand quilting. Watch the technique of hand quilting. Her left hand is under the hoop and she uses her fingers to push the needle back up to the top of the fabric. Doing the pushing has turned my index and middle fingers into a calloused mess.
