Quilts for Kids
There is an exciting charity that puts quilts to use in brightening the lives of ill children. The Quilts for Kids organization is on a mission to transform discontinued, unwanted and other fabrics into patchwork quilts that comfort children with life-threatening illnesses and children of abuse.
Partnering with P&G AND DOWNY for the Downy Touch of Comfort Program that enabled us the organization to encourage quilters to create beautiful quilts for kids. Over 10,000 quilt kits have been sent to quilters across the country, helping them to turn tears into smiles in many more children.
Kits are available to each person wanting to make a quilt. Kits include the fabric for the top and backing of the quilt. You will need to provide the batting (low-loft 1/8” – 1/4” poly or cotton). The pattern and official Quilts for Kids label is also included in the kit.
It is recommended that for every kit sent out, you will include one or more quilts of your own so the amount of donated quilts will be doubled, tripled or even quadrupled in their efforts to reach more of the six million hospitalized children in need of comfort.
Here is one of the quilts my sister, Grace, made and I quilted. She added a quilt she made and sent the package to this wonderful charity.

Are you ready to make a quilt! This is a wonderful way to begin. Got to Quilts for Kids to request a kit and read more about how this charity is helping children everywhere.
