Shopping Frenzy

This weekend was a great one for buying fabric and notions. Joannes had a 50% off coupon and I planned to use that gem. Well, if you have ever shopped at Joanne’s during any promotion, you know that they mark just about everything 30-40% off so that is the discount you get. You cannot use the 50% off coupon on anything that is already on sale. I saved 50 cents on a dollar button. Grrr. LOL What really hurts worse is that the button is the wrong color. Should I take it back? For 50 cents it is hardly worth the trouble and gas.

I bought a new 36 inch plastic cutting ruler. It was 50% off. Whoohoo! I rarely see that discount so I had to put than into my cart. Thread was also 50% off so I stocked up on basic colors like black, white, navy and beige. Why pay $6 when you can get it for $3? That is my philosophy. On Saturday, I bought 4 yards of warm and natural for my quilt and purse making. I also bought muslin for my quilt back. I have the batting and muslin layered with the quilt top and have started to machine quilt. I hope to get it done soon.

Whenever I want to save money, I just search for the name of the company + promotional code or discount code in google and usually there’s a list of codes. This works well when shopping online. Plus if companies have your email address they usually send lots of info about discounts.

That is true. I have a place in my purse saved for all of my coupons.

  3. I hate that! If the coupon says 50% off, you she get 50% off your entire purchase!! Stores like that make me so angry!!

I know. They know our choices are limited though. I wish I could afford to open a fabric store in our town.

clothing girl – I totally agree. At the very least they should allow you to take 50% off the original price, regardless of if it is on sale or not. That store totally confuses me.
