There's something about the Grinch that you don't see as a child but when you get older you see that the lesson is meant not just for the child who hears the story, but for the adult who reads it to them. I learned to sharpen my reading skills from reading "The cat in the hat ", "Green eggs and ham", and "The Grinch That Stole Christmas". What a delight those stories are. I also taught my grandchildren to read starting with these three books, after taking them to the movies made of them! Dr Seuss made learning fun both then and now. His works are timeless !
