Sure you can look up people on Google but you will most likely get a mixed bag of results in terms of relevant information. With Spock you can search by a number of different means and you'll only get people instead of a link to a newspaper article about someones 400 time in high school. With Spock you can contribute information and add links to other places you are on the Web. There are also pictures and news feeds which can be fun to play around with.
