My guess is that tradition began back when the first people came to America and went down to Mexico to buy cheap liquor during the warmers months of the year.

My guess would be that you are required to wear less clothing during hot weather and mix that with some beer and wild students and now you got yourself a sring break party =)
Does hot weather and alchohol consumption have something to do?
